Hand-building workshop
$200 / 3 weeks
Thursdays starting November 6 from 6:30-9:00 pm
A continuation of our popular Folk Figures class, this three-week workshop dives deeper into the heart of “folk” expression — raw, sincere, playful, and deeply personal.
You’ll learn to build a complete figure using a full sculpting and hollowing method, creating a more ambitious, dynamic, and expressive form than before.
We’ll explore what “folk” really means beyond its rustic charm, as an aesthetic of storytelling, resilience, and individuality. Through examples, short discussions, and creative prompts, you’ll develop a figure that feels alive, imbued with personality and narrative.
In the final class, you’ll glaze your finished piece, bringing color and surface to the stories embedded in the clay.
Prior handbuilding experience (like Folk Figures I or Intro to Hand-building) is necessary.

Hand-building workshop
$220 / 4 weeks
Wednesdays starting November 12 from 6:30-9:00 pm
In this four-week vase-making workshop, we’ll explore the versatility of coiling, while also touching on pinch and slab techniques to give you the confidence to experiment with form and structure. Over the course of the class, students will begin working on a "main" project — a unique vase that reflects your personal aesthetic. You’ll be encouraged to explore scale, proportion, and texture while experimenting with sculptural or functional forms.
Whether you want to create something sculptural, organic, or clean and modern, this class will guide you through the process of turning an idea into a finished piece.
This workshop is ideal for beginners as well as those looking to refine their hand-building skills in a relaxed, creative setting.
No prior experience required.
